Israel’s three waves of “precise strikes” on Iran on Saturday involved over 100 planes, including the cutting-edge F-35, which made a 2,000 km journey to specifically attack military targets, avoiding nuclear and oil facilities to prevent wider conflict escalation.

According to media reports, the Israeli army focused strictly on military targets, steering clear of nuclear and oil facilities to prevent wider conflict escalation. However, high alert remains as Israel anticipates a potential retaliation and not just from Iran.

According to a report on The Jerusalem Post, this large-scale assault involved over 100 aircraft, including F-35 ‘Adir’ stealth fighters, covering approximately 2,000 kilometers. Meanwhile, Iran said the Israeli strikes targeted military bases in Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran provinces, causing ‘limited damage’.

An operation of this magnitude likely commenced with initial attacks targeting radar and air defense systems, paving the way for further strikes on military installations. Previously, a coordinated strike in Syria eliminated similar threats, preventing Iran from gaining insight into Israel’s intentions.

Long-range strikes of this nature necessitate extensive refueling capabilities and keep the 669 Rescue Unit on high alert. The IDF is now vigilantly observing potential responses from Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon, preparing for a range of possible retaliatory actions.

Operations From The Base Location
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Chief of Staff Lt Gen Herzi Halevi are stationed at the Kirya base in Tel Aviv. A senior Israeli official revealed that the Security Cabinet authorized the strike during a phone conference last night.

“The IDF is fully equipped for both offensive and defensive operations, closely monitoring Iran and its proxies,” stated IDF Spokesperson R.-Adm. Daniel Hagari. He confirmed that there are no changes to Home Front Command guidelines at this time. “We urge ongoing vigilance and compliance with Home Front Command instructions, with updates to be provided immediately if there are any changes.”
The White House expressed support for Israel’s actions, asserting that “Israel’s precise strikes on Iranian military targets are in line with its right to self-defense and are a response to the Iranian missile attack on October 1.” US officials confirmed that Israel notified them of the operation a few hours in advance.

“President Biden was briefed on the Israeli strike in Iran and is closely monitoring the situation,” a senior US official stated.
