Mourning the sudden demise of the Queen, Manas Kumar Sahoo made a sand sculpture of her on the Golden Sea Beach of Puri, Odisha.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday in Balmoral, Scotland, after months of concerns about her health. She was 96. As a tribute to the longest reigning monarch of Britain, internationally acclaimed sand artist from Odisha, Manas Kumar Sahoo, created a sand art for Queen Elizabeth
Mourning the sudden demise of the Queen, Manas Kumar Sahoo made a sand sculpture of her on the Golden Sea Beach of Puri, Odisha, near the lighthouse.
It took him about 5 hours to sculpt it. The sand art is 10-feet-long and was constructed with almost 5 tonnes of sand. It also displays a message engraved at the bottom of the sculpture which reads “Tribute to the Queen”.
The UK monarch celebrated the 70th anniversary of her accession to the British throne in June this year. Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, died aged 99 on April 9, 2021.
