Gurugram-based online school management platform Skolaro exposed the data of over 50,000 students, their parents and teachers, found researcher Roni Suchowski.
The unsecured database contains student pictures, usernames, passwords, age, religion, address, school info, date of birth and medical history. It must be noted that there’s no evidence that this data has been obtained by third-parties at this time.
Suchowski and a news source contacted Skolaro independently to report the potential for data leak from its platform. At the moment, data protection laws do not cover instances of data of minors being stored in an unsecured manner. Scanned identity documents and data of some former government officials were also left exposed.
