Assembly election 2022: The Congress CEC will meet virtually today at 5 pm to decide candidates for 100 seats for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election. The BJP is also likely to finalise its candidates for the last 3 phases of UP polls. Meanwhile, in a major setback to the Congress, its star campaigner, RPN Singh, resigned. He is likely to join the BJP. ​Elections in five states — Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Goa — will be held in seven phases between February 10 and March 7. RPN Singh reaches BJP headquarters
RPN Singh, who resigned from the Congress an hour ago, reached the BJP headquarters today. He is likely to join the BJP at 3 pm.
