A new highway between Surat and Bengaluru was announced by the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday to curtail the vehicular pollution in Maharashtra’s two major cities Mumbai and Pune.   Gadkari also announced new national highway projects worth ₹5,801 for Maharashtra, under his ministry’s annual plan. The first of its kind, 100 women batch of disaster combatants and rescuers has been inducted in The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The in batch women have been deployed in GarhMukteshwar town, Uttar Pradesh, as reported.   The women have been trained as complete rescuers according to NDRF director general S N Pradhan.   “Recently, the UP government requisitioned an NDRF team and they (women) went there (Garh Mukteshwar).
