Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor met Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, the newly crowned Miss Universe 2021 on Wednesday and congratulated her on her victory.
India’s Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu was declared the winner at the 70th Miss Universe pageant held in Israel’s Eilat on December 13. She became the third Indian to bring home the crown after 21 years.

She’s excited to be back in India for the New Year holidays and India, of course, is proud to welcome her.”
He added, “She’s just as poised and charming in person as on stage.”
The model who hails from Chandigarh thanked Shashi Tharoor “for his kind words”. Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu tweeted in response to him, “Such an honour to meet you in person, sir. Thank you for your kind words.”
Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu beat Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira and South Africa’s Lalela Mswane to win the Miss Universe 2021 crown earlier this week. Only two Indians have won the title of Miss Universe before her – Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000
