GenextStudents teams up with Travkart to bring smiles on the faces of children in Raigad

Diwali isn’t just about bursting crackers, brightening up your house and gifting endless boxes of goodies to friends and families. GenextStudents, a unique ed-tech platform initiated a new way of celebrating the festival. It joined hands with Travkart, a unit of Holidays by Sahibji Pvt. Ltd that offers fixed departures with themed holidays, to visit Raigad’s two government-aided schools- Raigad Zila Parishad Shala in both Palas and Kharpale village. As part of the association, Travkart distributed 110 school bags among the students of both the schools.

GenextStudents had adopted the two villages, Kharpale & Palas, situated in Raigad district of Maharashtra in August this year as part of its ‘Freedom to Shine’ campaign. The idea was to impact lives by facilitating easier access to quality learning through teaching sessions, led by the tutorpreneurs from GenextStudents.

Commenting on the initiative, Ali Asgar Kagzi, Co-founder, GenextStudents

said, “This is the first corporate collaboration of GenextStudents for the campaign ‘Freedom to shine’ and as expected it was a phenomenal success. To be able to bring a smile on the faces of these children was a truly rewarding feeling and we are delighted that in partnership with Travkart, we were able to fulfill the true meaning and mission of Diwali… that of spreading joy to everyone.”

Manheer Singh Sethi, Co- founder, Travkart.com said, “It was a pleasure to be a part of this noble initiative by GenextStudents. We managed to reach out to the highly under-served rural areas of the country. A small gesture from our end means a lot to these children for whom Diwali isn’t always as sparkling as it is for the rest of us. We look forward to making more such meaningful contributions in association with GenextStudents.”

Tutorpreneurs associated with GenextStudents teach the English language to the students from these villages and offer lessons on other subjects as well, over a period of time. The lessons, combining technology and classroom-based learning, are conducted through weekly sessions of 6-8 hours and focus on offering foundational learning to students and strengthening their core concepts in elementary subjects. In addition, they also assist teachers who are already teaching in the schools to adopt newer teaching methods and tools for their lessons. GenextStudents eventually envisions adopting more such villages in and around the city and bringing interactive learning to their schools.
