Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic introduces a slew of women-centric policies at workplace

In a bid to reinvent and reshape its workplace to provide greater flexibility and career satisfaction to women employees, Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic (HSMC) has announced the launch of a new talent management programme with a slew of innovative women-centric policies. The company said it aims to recruit up to 300 women employees in the next five years; and that women employees are expected to make up a third of its workforce in the next five years.

 

Under the new programme, HSMC will extend benefits like cab facility, flexi-working hours, 26-weeks maternity leave and an insurance cover for spouse and children of married women. It will also pay crèche fees of one girl child for one year.

 

“Women employees tend to not stay long enough to pursue their career aspirations; and this is the biggest challenge faced by talent managers globally and more so in India. Our new programme is designed to ensure they can go through the different business cycles to qualify them for future leadership roles and have the preparedness and breadth of experience to take on P&L roles,” said Tarun Seth, Managing Director of Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic.

 

Recently the company did a detailed survey on Empowerment, Pride in Company, Leadership, Training and development, Opportunities for advancement to shape the development programme. Based on the survey, the company has also decided to launch a holistic talent development programme which will include induction training and equal opportunity to complete certification for the women workforce. This management programme is also being put in place to ensure that women stay with the company for a long period of time while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. In this respect, the company also ensures that there is equal pay for men & women.
