Elon Musk Leads as World’s Richest; Zuckerberg and Bezos Follow

Mark Zuckerberg, the co-founder and CEO of Meta Platforms, has reached a significant milestone, becoming one of the few individuals in the world with a net worth of $200 billion. This achievement places him in the company of two other tech giants: Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who are the only others to have surpassed this extraordinary wealth mark.

Zuckerberg’s wealth has surged by an astonishing $72.2 billion this year, bringing his total net worth to $200 billion. This leap makes him one of the top three richest individuals globally, alongside Musk, who maintains the top spot with a net worth of $265 billion, and Bezos, who follows closely with $216 billion. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index reflects these changes, highlighting Zuckerberg’s entry into the $200 billion club, an exclusive group that underscores the immense wealth concentrated within the tech industry.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has also seen a significant increase in wealth this year, adding $58 billion to his net worth. Despite this impressive gain, Huang remains outside the top three, with Musk and Bezos firmly holding their positions.

However, the reshuffling of the world’s wealthiest individuals has impacted Indian business tycoons, with neither Mukesh Ambani nor Gautam Adani making it into the top 10. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, despite adding $557 million to his fortune, is now ranked 12th in the world. Meanwhile, Gautam Adani, who saw a $1.57 billion increase in his wealth, holds the 14th position.

Other notable figures in the rankings include Oracle’s Larry Ellison, who is now the fourth richest person with a net worth of $178 billion, having gained $55.5 billion this year. Bernard Arnault, the chairman of LVMH, follows closely behind Ellison, with a net worth of $177 billion.

The changes in the rankings highlight the dynamic nature of global wealth, particularly within the tech sector, which continues to dominate the upper echelons of the world’s richest individuals. The rapid accumulation of wealth by figures like Zuckerberg, Musk, and Bezos underscores the significant economic influence these tech titans wield on a global scale.
