Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead outside a Gurdwara in Model Town, Jalandhar. According to reports, Lucky had gone to the gurdwara this morning at 8:15 AM, as was his daily routine. While he was outside the gurdwara, an assailant opened fire on him. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

Reports suggest that Oberoi was parking his car out side the Gurdwara when the attackers came on two-wheeler and opened fire at him. However, the incident prompted a strong response from police officials as the team reached the spot soon after receiving the information and began investigating the case. It should be noted that Lucky Oberoi's wife had earlier fought the municipal elections as an AAP candidate but was unsuccessful.
Partap Bajwa slamms state govt for daylight murder of Lucky
Strongly reacting to the development, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Legislative Assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa slammed the state government after the daylight murder of Oberoi in Jalandhar. He also alleged that Punjab's law and order situation has "collapsed" under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's administration.
In a post on X, he wrote, "Law and order in Punjab has collapsed under @BhagwantMann's watch. The shocking daylight murder of @AAPPunjab leader Lucky Oberoi outside a gurdwara in Jalandhar, exposes the grim reality: if even ruling party leaders aren't safe, what hope remains for ordinary citizens?"

Moreover, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that "law and order in complete collapse in Punjab."
In a post on X, he wrote, "Once again law and order in complete collapse in Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead outside a gurudwara in Jalandhar's Model Town. AAP is a Paap for Punjab."
Giving more information about the incident, AAP leader Gurcharan Singh Channi said that he was a leader of their party and they have just learned that he was shot multiple times.
