Starlink Gears Up India Launch With Hiring Drive

Elon Musk’s Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet arm, has begun hiring key finance and accounting roles in Bengaluru as it prepares to launch satellite broadband services in India by late 2025 or early 2026. The recruitment drive focuses on positions such as accounting manager, payments manager, senior treasury analyst, and tax manager, all required to work on-site, underscoring Starlink’s commitment to establishing a strong local presence.

This hiring surge follows regulatory approvals from India’s Department of Telecommunications for Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) services, paving the way for commercial operations. Starlink has also leased office space in Mumbai and is setting up ground stations in multiple cities including Mumbai, Chennai, and Noida, essential for infrastructure rollout and compliance.

Starlink aims to deliver fast, reliable internet to remote and underserved areas using its low-earth orbit satellite constellation, entering a competitive market alongside Bharti-backed OneWeb and Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Spectrum allocation decisions pending from Indian authorities may finalize Starlink’s phased rollout schedule.

With a clear focus on compliance, local operations, and customer support, Starlink’s entry could significantly enhance India’s digital connectivity, bridging gaps in broadband access for rural and hard-to-reach regions
