Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has reportedly received a death threat on social media, prompting swift action from Patna Police. The threat, delivered via Instagram, warned of a bomb attack targeting the minister. Authorities have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.

Complaint Filed at Cyber Crime Station

The matter was formally reported by the party's chief spokesperson, Dr. Rajesh Bhatt, at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Patna. Dr. Bhatt personally visited the station on Friday evening, urging immediate action and the arrest of the individual behind the threat.

“This is not just a threat to one person, but an attack on our democracy and the leadership of the Dalit community. Such acts must not be tolerated,” Dr. Bhatt stated.

Details of the Threat

According to the written complaint, the threat was made from an Instagram account named “Tiger Meraj Idreesi”. The suspect allegedly commented on a post by a YouTuber, threatening to kill Chirag Paswan using a bomb. The party termed the threat criminal in nature, highlighting the suspect’s apparent involvement in illegal and dangerous activities.

The complaint demanded strictest possible punishment for the accused, emphasizing the seriousness of the matter.

Police Confirm FIR, Begin Investigation

Cyber Crime SHO and DSP Nitish Chandra Dhariya confirmed that a complaint was received around 9 PM on Friday. The case has been formally registered at the Patna Cyber Crime Police Station, and a detailed investigation is underway to trace the source of the threat.

Additional Complaint Filed in Samastipur

In a parallel move, Anupam Kumar Singh alias Heera Singh, the Samastipur district president of the LJP (Ram Vilas), filed a separate complaint at the Samastipur Cyber Police Station. He confirmed that the threatening comment was made on an Instagram post featuring Chirag Paswan’s photograph. The suspect was once again identified as “Tiger Meraj Idrees”, as per the name visible in the post’s comment section.

Security Review Expected

Given the serious nature of the threat, authorities are expected to review the security arrangements surrounding Minister Chirag Paswan. Meanwhile, the cyber investigation teams are working to verify the authenticity of the Instagram account and trace the individual behind it.
