Ahead of the monsoon session, a latest order has stated that no dharna will be allowed in Parliament.

AICC General Secretary Jairam Ramesh shared the latest order by the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha PC Mody on Twitter. He captioned the image as “Vishguru’s latest salvo — D(h)arna Mana Hai!”

According to the latest order by the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha, members of Parliament cannot use its precincts for any dharna or strike.

The order by PC Mody read, “Members cannot use the precincts of Parliament House for any demonstration, dharna, strike, fast, or for the purpose of performing any religious ceremony.”

Mody ended the letter by asking “kind cooperation of members.”

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha secretariat on Wednesday released a booklet ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, listing words which will now be considered ‘unparliamentary’ in the two Houses.

According to the booklet, using words like ‘jumlajeevi’, ‘baal buddhi’, ‘Covid spreader’ and ‘Snoopgate’ and even commonly used words like ‘ashamed’, ‘abused, ‘betrayed’, ‘corrupt’, ‘drama’, ‘hypocrisy’, and ‘incompetent’ is “unparliamentary” in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

As soon as the booklet was out, some opposition leaders attacked the Centre, calling the restrictions needless. Some even threatened to use them even at the risk of suspension.
