Durga Charan Ranbir (Art) – A renowned Odissi dance guru who has mastered the art form and is also proficient in playing the Pakhawaj. He has received numerous accolades for his contributions to Indian classical dance.

Pratibha Satpathy (Literature and Education) – A distinguished poet in Odia literature, recognized as one of the leading poets of the country and a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award.

Adwaita Charan Gadanayak (Art) – A famous sculptor from the remote Dhenkanal district, known for his stone carvings on historical themes such as Mahatma Gandhi’s salt march, the central memorial at the National Police Memorial, and the Subhas Chandra Bose statue at the National War Memorial complex.

Reactions and Significance

Following the announcement of the awards, the recipients expressed their gratitude. Adwaita Charan Gadanayak, currently the Director General of the Art Academy of KIIT, acknowledged the support of KIIT and KISS Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta. Reflecting on his journey, he stated, “I am absolutely happy and cannot believe that a man from a remote village in Dhenkanal, working with stone, could receive such a prestigious award.”

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra dedicated his award to the service of the people, expressing his deep gratitude to the Central and Odisha governments. He stated, “I have spent my life serving people without expecting awards or rewards. At the age of 74, this recognition is truly an honor.”
