REC organizes ‘Bijli Utsav’ in Ranchi as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, REC Limited, a Maharatna Company under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, organized ‘Bijli Utsav’ in Ranchi, Jharkhand on 29th June, 2023. Citizens from villages who benefited from various government schemes in the power sector shared their experiences and views on how electricity transformed their lives.

The event was graced by Member of Parliament, Ranchi, Shri Sanjay Seth; DGM, Ranchi, Shri D K Singh; DGM, Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL), Shri Mantosh Mani Singh; EEE (West), JBVNL, Shri Himanshu; and Chief Program Manager, REC Limited, Shri Anjan Lahiri, along with other local representatives and officials.

The event witnessed various sessions where the speakers highlighted issues pertaining to energy conservation, consumer rights challenges faced during electrification in remote areas, and how the quality of life improved with people getting access to power.

The event concluded with the distribution of LED bulbs to citizens.
