Sachin Tendulkar Arrives at Ratan Tata’s Colaba Residence to Pay Last Respects

Ratan Tata passed away on Wednesday, October 9 in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Mumbai hospital at the age of 86. The sporting fraternity in India is mourning the loss of one of India’s greatest industrialists.
Sachin Tendulkar paid tribute to Ratan Tata at his Colaba residence in Mumbai on Thursday, October 10. The former India cricketer also penned a heartfelt post for the veteran industrialist on X, formerly Twitter, to pay homage to him.

“In his life, and demise, Mr Ratan Tata has moved the nation. I was fortunate to spend time with him, but millions, who have never met him, feel the same grief that I feel today. Such is his impact. From his love for animals to philanthropy, he showed that true progress can only be achieved when we care for those who don’t have the means to take care of themselves. Rest in peace, Mr Tata. Your legacy will continue to live through the institutions you built and values that you embraced,” Tendulkar captioned his post.

The entire sporting fraternity in India is paying tribute to Ratan Tata, who served as an inspiration for people belonging to all walks of life. The former India captain and opener Virender Sehwag took to X to pay tribute to the veteran industrialist who took India to the world stage.

“We have lost a true Ratan of Bharat, Shri Ratan Tata ji. His life will be an inspiration for us all and he will continue to live in our hearts. Om Shanti,” Sehwag captioned his post on X.
The former India Test captain and the most successful bowler in the red-ball format, Anil Kumble, also lauded Tata for his “legacy of giving back to society” and mentioned that it is something that will continue to inspire the future generation.

Two-time Olympic medallist and ace track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra also bereaved the loss and penned an emotional post on X.

“I’m very sorry to hear about the passing of Shri Ratan Tata ji. He was a visionary, and I’ll never forget the conversation I had with him. He inspired this entire nation. I pray that his loved ones find strength. Om Shanti,” Neeraj posted on X.
Shikhar Dhawan who recently retired from all forms of cricket said that the world will always remember the legend for his “contributions”.
