Shivpal Singh Yadav pays ‘courtesy visit’ to UP CM Yogi Adityanath


Hours after being sworn in as an MLA of the UP Assembly, Shivpal Singh Yadav met Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath at the latter’s official residence in Lucknow.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath met Shivpal Singh Yadav at 5 Kalidas Marg, the former’s official residence in Lucknow, on Wednesday.

The meeting, termed by Shivpal Singh Yadavs aides as a “courtesy call”, lasted for nearly 20 minutes.

The brother of former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav, Shivpal Singh Yadav, had floated a new party in 2019 following differences with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Shivpal Singh Yadav’s Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia contested the recent UP Assembly polls as part of the Samajwadi Party-led alliance.

On Wednesday, Shivpal Singh Yadav was sworn in as an MLA of the UP Legislative Assembly in the presence of Speaker Satish Mahana. Yadav had won from Jaswantnagar seat of Etawah in the recent elections.
