An IIT student, Kumar Yash, who hailed from Deoghar in Jharkhand, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan in his hostel room. He was a second year M.Sc. student. The incident took place on Tuesday night when his friends and IIT staff entered the room by breaking the window as the door was locked from inside.
