The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) is set to hold a “shuddhikaran pooja” as pere the order of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu (purification ritual) in response to the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged ghee adulteration in the famed Tirupati laddu. The issue surfaced when concerns were raised about the purity of the ghee used in preparing the iconic prasadam, leading to widespread public outcry.

The matter caught the attention of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who has ordered the purification ritual to address the concerns and uphold the sanctity of the temple and its offerings. The ritual is expected to cleanse the temple’s environment and reaffirm the temple’s commitment to maintaining high standards of purity for its prasadam.

The Tirumala temple, which attracts millions of devotees annually, is deeply revered, and the Tirupati laddu holds special significance as a sacred offering. Therefore, any controversy related to it is taken seriously by both temple authorities and devotees alike. The TTD is also conducting a thorough investigation into the ghee adulteration allegations to ensure such issues do not occur in the future.

In a significant development amid the Tirupati laddu ghee adulteration controversy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident. During a press conference at his Undavalli residence, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the deep emotional impact the issue has had on devotees, as allegations surfaced that animal fats were allegedly used in preparing the sacred laddus.

Naidu assured the public that the SIT, to be led by an officer of Inspector General (IG) rank or higher, will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, including the possible misuse of power involved. He emphasized that the SIT will report directly to the government and that stringent actions will be taken based on its findings to prevent any recurrence of such incidents in the future.

The Chief Minister reiterated that there will be “no compromise” on this issue and that the government is committed to protecting the sentiments of devotees and maintaining the sanctity of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. The move reflects the gravity with which the state government is treating the matter, given the religious significance of the temple and its prasadam.
