KKR lost their second game to Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai, as they failed to defend the target of 128. Sherfane Rutherford and Shahbaz Ahmed were the chink in the armour for last season’s finalists. However, Shreyas Iyer’s men bounced back with a win over Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai by six wickets, chasing a target of 137 with ease.

Mumbai Indians did not have the start they hoped for, as they lost to Delhi Capitals in their opener and then to Rajasthan Royals in their second game. They failed to protect their lead of 170 against Delhi and then could not chase 193 runs that Rajasthan had scored.
