A junior engineer with the railways was shot dead by miscreants in Bihar’s Arrah district after a dispute broke out over the choice of song to be played during a wedding ceremony.

An employee with the railways was shot dead in a dispute that broke out over choice of music during a dance programme at a wedding celebration event in Arrah district of Bihar on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Kumar Singh alias Bhaskar, 23. He was working as junior engineer at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction in Uttar Pradesh. Bullet marks were found on the left side of the eye of the deceased.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED?

A dance programme was organised during the wedding celebrations. Some miscreants from a nearby village entered the venue and started demanding songs of their choice be played. When the deceased 23-year-old junior engineer and his family members asked the miscreants to leave, a fight ensued. Amid the clash, the miscreants took out a gun and shot Abhishek, who died on the spot.

On receiving the information, police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident. Singh’s body was sent for postmortem at Sadar Hospital, Arrah.
