11 Lives Lost, 4 Injured in Hardoi as Truck Slams Into Autorickshaw in Uttar Pradesh

In a tragic road accident in Roshanpur village, Hardoi, a collision between an auto-rickshaw and a truck led to the deaths of eleven people, including six women and three children, on Wednesday, November 6. The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m., and a police team arrived swiftly to assist with rescue efforts.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Neeraj Kumar Jadaun initially reported ten fatalities, which later rose to eleven as more information emerged. Four other passengers sustained injuries but are out of danger and are receiving treatment at the district hospital.

SP Jadaun noted that an investigation is ongoing. Early findings suggest that the truck (DCM vehicle) may have swerved to avoid a motorcycle, leading to the collision with the auto-rickshaw. He emphasized that the exact cause will be confirmed once the investigation is complete.

Prime Minister Modi’s Condolences and Assistance

Following the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences on X (formerly Twitter), describing the accident as “heartbreaking” and expressed sympathy for the bereaved families. He also announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh to the families of each deceased individual and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
