Surveys from the Geological Survey of India (GSI) have found gold deposits in three districts of Odisha. Odisha is endowed with vast resources of a variety of minerals and occupies a prominent place in the country as a mineral rich State. Gold deposits of Orissa can be broadly divided into three broad zones of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh districts. In Keonjhar district gold occurrences have been reported in different sectors.
