Yemen: 85 people killed in stampede in Sanaa during charity event for Ramadan

The incident took place in the Old City in the centre of Sanaa when hundreds of poor people gathered at an event organised by merchants, according to the Houthi-run Interior Ministry. The ministry’s spokesman, Brig Abdel-Khaleq al-Aghri said the mismanagement by the organizers of the event caused the stampede. India surpasses China to become most populous country: UN data

India has now become the most populous country in the world, surpassing China, data from a UN report suggests. The data showed that India now has 2.9 million more people than China. India’s population number is an estimate since there has been no Census in the country after 2011. The UN says their estimate does not include the population of China’s two Special Administrative Regions – Hong Kong and Macau – and the island of Taiwan. A retired NASA satellite is expected to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere, almost 21 years after its launch. It does not present any threat to humans, the US space agency said. Fox News has settled a defamation lawsuit from the voting machine company, Dominion, over its reporting of the 2020 presidential election. Dominion argued its business was harmed by Fox spreading false claims the vote had been rigged against Donald Trump. The network agreed to pay $787.5m (£634m) – about half of the $1.6bn initially sought by Dominion.
