Indian envoy to UK denied entry to Scotland gurudwara by radical Sikh activists, Sikh leader responds

The Indian High Commissioner to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, was allegedly prevented by radical Sikh activists from entering a gurudwara in Scotland’s Glasgow.  “They are hurting Sikhs in Canada and other places, every Sikh should protest against any Indian Ambassador like we did here in Glasgow,” the protestor is reportedly heard saying in the video.  The incident comes amid a diplomatic row between India and Canada following Justin Trudeau’s claim alleging India’s possible involvement in the killing of Najjar.  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reacted strongly to the incident.  Meanwhile,…

Swedish Children are contacting criminal gangs to offer their services as contract killers: Police

In August 2023, there were 69 people aged under 18 in custody in Sweden.  More and more children are contacting criminal gangs in Sweden to offer their services as contract killers.  The gangs also contacted people, often minors, and “furnished them with weapons and gave them the address in which to stage the attack”.  The Scandinavian country has in recent years been in the grip of a bloody conflict between gangs fighting over arms and drug trafficking.  Shootings, once limited to disadvantaged areas, have become regular occurrences in public places. …

Sikhs protest in Amritsar after Canada’s allegations

ED attaches assets worth Rs 2.84 crore in a ‘Post matric scholarship scam’

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached properties worth Rs 2.84 crore under the PMLA Act, in connection with the ‘Post matric Scholarship Scam’.  Investigation revealed that managers and trustees of Hygia Group of Institutes and SS Group of Institutes got admission of fake students in their institutes and applied for scholarships in their names on the government portal.  The ED said that the attached properties are in the form of seven plots.  The ED initiated a PMLA investigation in this case on receipt of intelligence and subsequent registration of FIR…
