Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai police in a pornography case. Raj has been associated with an adult film racket and now has been sent in judicial custody till July 27th.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra spent 6 long hours yesterday evening as officials from Mumbai’s crime branch searched through their sprawling home looking for key evidence. Sources said that, Shilpa’s involvement in the case is being probed into right now. The reason Shilpa has come under the scanner is because she resigned from the director’s position from Viaan Industries.
Since operations of the porn production and distribution were allegedly being handled by Viaan Industries, the cops have decided to look into the matter and see if Shilpa benefitted in any way from the money generated at the company.
The source also revealed that Shilpa’s Bank accounts will also be checked for the same and the Crime Branch will also ascertain how long she served as one of the directors of the company. As per the report, police are also summoning directors and other office bearers of Viaan Industries, of which the actor was part of until 2020.
Earlier reports had also revealed that in the investigation of the Raj Kundra case, Crime Branch officials are examining CCTV footage at Viaan Industries, looking for the person who deleted data from the servers hosting the digital content for the apps. Forensic experts will also try to retrieve the deleted data.
Other allegations from police sources also suggest that large sums of money were transferred to Kundra’s account from a betting company. Authorities will check if the profits earned from the porn production project were used in betting. Raj Kundra who was earlier arrested on July 19 in connection to production and distribution of pornographic content, was sent to police custody till July 23. The custody has further been extended till July 27.
Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty who wasn’t yet served a summon in the investigation of the Raj Kundra case, has also not been part of her usual shoot assignments on reality TV shows. With the investigation veering towards new directions, we need to see if the police will approach Shilpa again.
Apart, from Viaan Industries, Shetty is also a brand ambassador of Kundra’s JL stream app. “The role of JL Stream has also surfaced in our investigation and recently, we have carried out raids at the offices of both the companies. Several incriminating pieces of evidence have been recovered.”
The Crime Branch, raided Kundra’s offices in Andheri, have found that a lot of data was removed from the server since they filed an FIR in the case in February. “So far we have found that around 2TB data has been deleted from the Storage Area Network (SAN) by the IT department of Kundra’s firms on his instructions,” the officer said.
Ryan Thorpe, the IT head of the businessman’s team who has also been arrested, revealed that the videos were sent from Kundra’s offices to London-based company Kenrin, which uploaded the pornography videos on Hotshot app.

Businessman Raj Kundra’s WhatsApp chats reveal he was discussing a deal to sell 121 porn videos for $1.2 million, Mumbai Police said in court today. “This deal seems to be on the international level,” police added. The businessman has been sent to police custody till July 27 by the court.
At the same time, one compliant comes from actress Sagarika Shona Suman, who had accused Raj Kundra of demanding a nude audition from her, has claimed that she is getting death and rape threats. “I am disturbed and depressed because I am getting calls from different online platforms…People are calling me from different numbers and asking me what wrong has Raj Kundra done,” she added.
