The first phase of the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya is being completed with the construction of the raft foundation.

With the announcement of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya is being expedited further.

Work on the foundation of the temple was completed on the day of Makar Sankranti. Only two blocks of the raft foundation were left for casting, which was done on January 14 and left for a week to dry. The work of setting the stone will be the next course of action.

On Sunday, preparations for the construction of the next phase will start after performing rituals on the raft foundation.

Vinod Mehta, project manager, told India Today that the first phase of construction of Ram temple is being completed with the construction of the raft foundation.

“Now, in the next phase, the stone work will start with the construction of the base plinth. Its preparation is going on. At the same time, it will take more than 3 lakh cubic feet of stone for the construction of a 20 foot-high base plinth on a 300 feet by 400 feet square feet area, which is being sourced from Mirzapur and Bengaluru,” Mehta added.

Significantly, more than 50,000 cubic feet of stones have reached Ayodhya. The rest are also coming soon. These stones are cut into specific sizes, prepared and ordered. The construction of the base plinth will be done by L&T in technical consultation with TCS.

The company of Sompura will get the work of the third phase of temple construction done, in which the main construction and design and marking of the temple are included.

At the time of construction of the base plinth, the pillars and main places of the temple will also be marked, according to Subroto Ghai of Tata. “There is not more work of concrete anymore. By mid-February, the stone setting will begin where the special focus will be on the quality and construction,” he said.

On the other hand, the VHP and RSS have become active as soon as the news of chief minister Yogi Adityanath contesting from Ayodhya was confirmed to take the issue of construction of Ram temples across the state in the run-up to the election.

A film made on the construction of Ram Janmabhoomi temple, including Darshan Marg, will be shown to the devotees coming to Ayodhya through LED screens at different places in the holy city. Through this, every devotee will be able to get acquainted with the technical details and grandeur of the Ram temple.
