Congress holds parliamentary strategy meeting, plans to work with like-minded parties

Top Congress leaders held a virtual meeting on Friday morning to discuss the party’s strategy during the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament.

Ahead of the Budget Session of the Parliament, the top leaders from the Congress party met through a virtual meeting to discuss the strategies.

According to sources, the committee decided to jointly work with like-minded parties.

The meeting, which was headed by party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, witnessed the Congress party’s leaders from both houses – Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

They brainstormed about the issues to be taken up in both houses, floor strategy, how to reach other opposition parties.

“The strategy for this budget session will be different as we are heading into the assembly polls,” said a member of the committee.

As per the sources, in the backdrop of assembly elections in the five states, opposition parties are keen that debate on the key issues should take place in the Parliament.

The party is planning to raise concerns such as the Lakhimpur Kheri area farmers issue, price rise, unemployment, law and order, China border issue, sell out of Air India and Covid in both houses of the Parliament.
