Priyanka Gandhi was on a day’s visit to Goa and campaigned in several constituencies.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday said that the Congress party would be forming the next government in Goa.
Talking to India Today TV, she said, “There is a straight fight between the Congress and the BJP, and Congress will be the winner.”
Priyanka Gandhi was on a day’s visit to the state and campaigned in several constituencies. When asked if her mandate has now increased beyond Uttar Pradesh and whether she would be seen in a national role, she said, “I have the mandate of Uttar Pradesh. I have been to Assam as well. Wherever my party wishes me to go, I will go,” she said.
While talking at a public rally, she said that if voted to power, the Congress party would reserve 30% of government jobs for women and make provisions for the security of women in Goa.
“This is an important election, not just for political parties but for the people as well. If you want a government that believes in your culture, then vote for Congress. We will work hard for you…Years back, my grandmother conducted a referendum here to see whether you people want to be with Maharashtra or not. Today, again, we want to give Goa to the Goans.” she said
Congress party in Goa has planned several things for the welfare of the people. “Nyay schemes will ensure 6 thousand per month for weaker families. Government funds worth Rs 500 crore will be allocated to jobs. Every Goan will get state insurance. The price of petrol and diesel won’t increase beyond Rs 80 in the state,” she said.
Referring to the politics of Uttar Pradesh, she said that politics today is filled with anger and negativity,” adding that a large number of people were in debt owing to the ignorance of the state government.”
“When a government cannot accept your culture to flourish, then you suffer. I have spoken to people here and they are under stress. No one said their life has been good. During Covid, there was little support from the government. The focus of the Goa government is only on staying in power. Last elections, it was evident that power was being usurped. Wealth was then created to benefit a select friend, but no jobs. This is what is happening in Goa,” she said.
Priyanka Gandhi also said that parties like TMC and AAP were here only to divide votes and have no chance of forming any government.
Goa will go to the polls on February 14.
