As Telangana gears up for Assembly polls in 2023, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay said that he would drive the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen out of Hyderabad and make Telangana a ‘saffron bastion’ if the BJP is voted to power.

Addressing party leaders and workers of Hyderabad parliamentary constituency on Sunday, Telangana BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay ‘vowed to drive the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen from Hyderabad’ and make the entire Telangana a ‘saffron bastion’, if BJP was voted to power in 2023

Telangana is scheduled to go for assembly elections in 2023, and all political parties in the state are switching to the poll mode. Bandi Sanjay declared that if the BJP was voted to power in the state, it would build a big Bhagya Lakshmi temple in Hyderabad, on the lines of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is looking to capture Telangana, called the gateway of South India, has already started reviewing it’s parliamentary constituency-wise preparation.

The meeting was attended by Secunderabad MP and Union minister G Kishan Reddy, BJP floor leader in the assembly T Raja Singh, and others, along with a large number of party leaders and cadre from the constituency.

Sanjay revealed that the BJP had chosen Hyderabad parliamentary constituency to declare ‘war against the divisive forces’.

Four-time MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi represents the Hyderabad parliamentary constituency. Dismissing that the Muslim dominated part of old Hyderabad was an ‘adda’ of the AIMIM, he said, “Despite the police cautioning us, we held a meeting at Charminar and showed our strength.”

Bandi Sanjay recalled that between 1985-99, ‘hardcore Hindu leader’ Baddam Bal Reddy was the MLA of Karwan. Karwan is now represented by an AIMIM MLA. BJP member N Indrasena Reddy won from the Muslim-dominated Malakpet, while T Raja Singh has been at the forefront in protecting Hinduism in Goshamahal.

The Telangana BJP chief further said that the once old city was a ‘mini-Bharat’ with people from all parts of the country calling it their home. “Subsequently, they all fled to the other side of the Musi river unable to bear the atrocities of the AIMIM,” he said.

He further alleged that the AIMIM was ‘hounding out the Hindus, on the lines of the terrorists who had driven away Kashmiri pundits from Kashmir valley.’ He assured that, “Once the BJP comes to power, I will start the ‘ghar wapsi’ programme from the old city itself, bringing back those who fled due to AIMIM.

The BJP state president further cautioned that political leaders who visit mosques only to appease the voters of their communities. “I don’t go to masjids and churches and damage their sanctity, because I don’t know anything about their religious customs and practices and about Allah or Jesus Christ,” he said.

“Why are all these parties, which only bother about Muslims who constitute 12 percent of the electorate, not thinking about the Hindus who constitute 80 percent of the voters? What is the crime committed by the Hindus?” he asked.

Sanjay Kumar also claimed that he had won the Karimnagar Lok Sabha elections only with the Hindu votes. He asked, “How did the BJP win Secunderabad, Nizamabad and Adilabad MP seats? Just think about it.”

He further feared that AIMIM might even issue a Fatwa, banning Muslim women from exercising their franchise in the elections, as they have largely benefited from the triple Talaq bill brought by the BJP government.
