Three Telangana BJP MLAs, T Raja Singh, M. Raghunandan Rao and Etela Rajender, were suspended until the end of the Budget session which began today at the Telangana assembly.
hree Telangana BJP MLAs, T Raja Singh, M Raghunandan Rao and Etela Rajender, were suspended from the assembly on Monday, March 7. The motion to suspend them was moved by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
Within minutes of the Budget session beginning at the Telangana assembly, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav moved a motion to suspend the three members till the end of the budget session.
The three BJP MLAs wanted to organise a protest against the budget and the ruling TRS party, as they chose not to schedule the customary governor’s speech at the beginning of the budget session.
Earlier, the TRS had said that the governor’s address was not required, as the budget session is a continuation of the previous session, which was not discontinued.
However, the governor’s office statement said that if the Assembly session occurs after five months, it will be considered as a new session.
The opposition BJP and Congress in Telangana have strongly condemned the decision and alleged that the TRS government was showing a ‘disrespectful attitude’ towards the constitutional guardian of the state.
