With 2,000 square meters of floor space available in each hangar, about 6-8 midsize GA aircraft can be accommodated at once.
New hangars will not only help save time and money for the operators but also reduce environmental pollution to a large extent.
General aviation includes all flights other than scheduled commercial airlines, and largely caters to private aircraft and chartered flights.
According to the statement released by DIAL, the hangars are fully operational since April 2022, and these hangars serve the business jets and general aviation (GA) aircraft. These hangars also have close to 4,600 sqm of the front maintenance holding area, which is available to accommodate aircraft needing minor repair.
”This facility not only benefits the aircraft operators but also helps Delhi Airport in achieving its environmental sustainability goals,” said Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO, DIAL
