After UP CM Yogi’s order, officials visit Yamuna Expressway to review road safety measures

A team of officials of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), and Jaypee Infratech visited the Yamuna Expressway on Friday to review the road safety measures. 

After Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave orders to review the upcoming road safety measures, a team of government officials visited the Yamuna Expressway on Friday

The officers of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), CEO Arun Vir Singh, additional ACEO Monika Rani, ACEO Ravinder Singh along with senior officials of Jaypee Infratech visited the expressway. They inspected the works recommended by the IIT Delhi safety audit.

It was observed that safety related work was complete except for installing guardrails on both sides of the medium of the Yamuna Expressway.

CM Adityanath had issued instructions to bring down road accidents in the state.

The YEIDA said pamphlets carrying instructions for a safe journey would be distributed to the road users. The pamphlets would be more attractive and be briefly informative with bigger font size.

he Yamuna Expressway has witnessed at least 1,700 road crashes since 2018 which claimed more than 450 lives and left over 3,000 injured, according to official figures.
