Noida Police holds peace meetings, visits mosques ahead of Bakrid, Kanwar Yatra

Ahead of Bakrid, Kanwar Yatra and other festivities, Noida Police held peace meetings with Islamic preachers and visited mosques.

Senior police officers in Gautam Buddh Nagar held peace meetings with Islamic preachers during visits to mosques ahead of Friday prayers, Eid al-Adha and the Kanwar Yatra, on Thursday.

As per the reports, route inspections of Kanwar Yatra and peace meetings with Hindu and Muslim community members were done.

The police said, “Joint Commissioner (Law and Order) Love Kumar inspected the proposed Kanwar Yatra route ahead of the beginning of the Shravan month. He also visited mosques in Noida and held talks with religious preachers and leaders.”

According to PTI, Kumar visited the Jama Masjid in Noida Sector 8 and other mosques where he interacted with religious leaders to conduct the upcoming Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) in a peaceful and cordial manner, revealed a statement.

The police have also urged the people to cooperate in the successful completion of the Kanwar Yatra and to maintain communal harmony during the festive season.

As per the official statement, the police told people to alert them about any suspicious activity or person.
