Uttar Pradesh minister Jitin Prasada, who was in Delhi to meet the BJP high command, was forced to return to Lucknow without meeting party leadership on Wednesday. The BJP leadership reportedly did not have time for the disgruntled UP minister.

Jitin Prasada is said to be upset with the Yogi Adityanath-led government in UP over the transfer of his officer on special duty (OSD).

Earlier this month, the Yogi Adityanath government cracked down on the Public Works Department, after a three-member inquiry committee, comprising chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, additional chief secretary home Awanish Awasthi and additional chief secretary sugar industries and excise Sanjay R Bhoosreddy, found transfers were granted to engineers and officials in lieu of money.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath ordered the suspension of five senior officials, including Public Works Department (PWD) minister Jitin Prasada’s OSD over irregularities in the department.

Following this, there were speculation that Jitin Prasada will likely go to Delhi on Wednesday and meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah to talk about his grievances.

Jitin Prasada reached Delhi today to meet the BJP leadership. However, the top leaders reportedly did not have time to meet the UP minister and Jitin Prasada was forced to return to Lucknow without meeting BJP high command.

Notably, Jitin Prasada had crossed over to the BJP from the Congress on the eve of the UP Assembly polls. He was given the portfolio of the important PWD Department.
