Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said outgoing president Ram Nath Kovind fulfilled the BJP’s political agenda at the cost of the Indian Constitution. “The outgoing president leaves behind a legacy where the Indian Constitution was trampled upon umpteenth times,” said Mufti.

Mufti mentioned the scrapping of Article 370, the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the “unabashed targeting of minorities and Dalits” in the country while slamming the former president.

Ram Nath Kovind was succeeded by NDA’s candidate Droupadi Murmu as the 15th President of India. Murmu took oath as India’s new president on Monday in a ceremony held in the Central Hall of Parliament.
