Lok Sabha MP Chirag Paswan reacted after JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh had alleged that some people were conspiring against the JD(U) and preparing to make another model like the Chirag Paswan model.
Jamui Lok Sabha MP Chirag Paswan launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his party Janata Dal (United) in response to against the Lok Sabha MP.
Addressing a press conference, he said, “I do positive politics. I am no model. There has been a split in the house of the one who broke the house of another. It would be better not to look for reasons outside the party.”
On Saturday, RCP Singh had quit the JDU after the party sent him a notice over corruption allegations. Following his resignation, RCP Singh called the JD(U) “a sinking ship”.
In response, JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh targeted the BJP in gestures regarding the RCP Singh episode. Lalan Singh alleged that some people (BJP) were conspiring against the JDU and preparing to make another model (RCP Singh), like Chirag Paswan model.
Paswan further said that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar was confused in 2020 and is still confused. “He was not defeated by Chirag Paswan but by 13 crore people of Bihar. I was then also a representative of public sentiments and am still today,” Chirag Paswan added.
Referring to a Lord Krishna story, Paswan said, “The fear of defeat in 2024 has engulfed him so much that he wants to kill every son of Mother Devaki like King Kansa. First they attack me and now at Ramchandra Prasad Singh. They do not know that Krishna has taken an incarnation for political slaughter.”
Chirag Paswan also said, “Today Nitish Kumar is saying that RCP Singh kept doing corruption under my nose and you still call your governance a good one. This is a complete betrayal to the people of Bihar and only the people of Bihar will answer it.”
Meanwhile, all is not well between the Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) and the BJP. The Bihar Chief Minister’s decision to skip Sunday’s Niti Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the latest in a series of snubs, has further fuelled speculation that two NDA allies may be headed for a split.
Significantly, Nitish Kumar has been giving the cold shoulder to the BJP for a few months now. The Nitish Aayog meet was the fourth meeting since July 17 called by the Union government that the JD(U) chief has stayed away from.
Also, the Rashtriya Janata Dal has also softened its stand on Nitish Kumar and barred all its spokespersons from making statements against him. It is believed that Nitish Kumar and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav are in touch with each other and there is speculation that both may try to form the government in Bihar before August 11.
