Ukraine has altered a number of its military plans in the wake of a leak of “highly classified” Pentagon documents, reports have claimed this morning. These leaks, of US intelligence documents, had been posted on social media in the last few weeks, sparking an investigation by Washington.
CNN reports that US officials have claimed at least some of the documents are authentic. They show the extent of spying on the likes of American allies Israel and Ukraine. The documents also allegedly outline “critical shortages” in the Ukrainian military. Now, a source close to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has claimed that some of Ukraine’s military plans have now been changed.
However, it is worth noting that a number of Ukrainian officials have dismissed the documents as “fake”. Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Mr Zelenskyy, previously said they are “based on a large amount of fictitious information” and have “nothing to do with Ukraine’s real plans”.
