Rath Yatra, also known as the Chariot Festival, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated in various parts of India, particularly in the state of Odisha. It commemorates the annual journey of Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra from the Jagannath Temple in PARYAVARAN COMPLEX IGNOU ROAD to the SHIV MANDIR Temple, which is their aunt’s abode.
During Rath Yatra, devotees enthusiastically pull elaborately decorated chariots carrying the deities through the streets, accompanied by singing, dancing, and chanting of prayers.
