Aricent and NASSCOM Foundation have jointly announced the culmination of the first edition of “Arise by Aricent” programme in Hyderabad with 900+ students successfully trained and certified from tier-2 and tier-3 colleges in and around Hyderabad.

Delivered through India’s leading vocational training provider MindMap LLP and governed by NASSCOM Foundation, this On-Campus program equipped students from select colleges with skills ranging from basics like SDLC methodologies, to programming languages like JAVA, database management languages like SQL, API creation through Jdbc, project designing and software testing.

This program also trained them in essentials such as oral and written communication, business etiquettes, problem solving, time management, customer orientation, interview skills and other soft skills required to enhance their employment opportunities. The candidates were later assessed on the NDSC- SSC NASSCOM Qualification Parameter – QP 501 and certified as a software developer, enhancing their chances of employment.

From the 1400 students trained, 915 successfully cleared the 250 hours long rigorous training and examinations. A lot of these students have already started getting job offers from companies like Google, Genpact, Amazon and IBM with average salary package of 3-5 LPA.

Congratulating the students on their successful completion of the course, Ashwani Lal, Chairman CSR Committee and Chief Operations & Quality Officer, Aricent, said, “We are humbled to see that Arise by Aricent programme has touched lives of so many students. I would   congratulate and thank Mindmap and NASSCOM Foundation for supporting us in this journey of improving quality of engineering education. Quality enhancement in engineering education is consciously chosen as a thematic area for Aricent CSR programs because it aligns with the vision of the Company and there lies our core strength too. I am sure our CSR programs will help us to contribute meaningfully in bridging the knowledge and skill gap existing in the IT & ITeS domain. It will facilitate availability of a new generation of educated and skilled engineers whose ability to use their knowledge and skill will determine future of IT & ITeS sector”.

Speaking on the same, NASSCOM Foundation’s CEO, Shrikant Sinha, said, “The key to exploit the true potential of our demographic dividend is to skill them and make them employable. As most of them are first generation graduates and belong to the underserved population, it is important to provide them with credible skilling opportunities. We are glad to have found an amazing partner in Aricent, who has been working with us for the last two years to upskill underserved students from across India and make them employment ready for any IT-BPM company to hire – A ‘win-win’ for both, the society and the industry. We are happy to announce that together we have been able to train 6100+ students on employability driven skills and will renew this partnership for the third year to train 3,000 more underserved students. This partnership also is a great example of how CSR money can be used for the benefit of creating more employment opportunities for the underserved youth.”

The students are being provided ample opportunities to get job offers through various placement drives and job fairs being conducted by the Foundation and MindMap LLP.
