Telangana Government to Establish Skill Development University

Hyderabad, Telangana — Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced plans to establish a Skill Development University in the state to enhance youth employability through specialized training and skill acquisition.

During a recent visit to the Engineers’ Staff College at Gachibowli, the Chief Minister received a proposal from industrialists advocating for the creation of a Skill Development University. In response, he instructed officials and industry leaders to develop detailed proposals, which will be reviewed and decided upon within 24 hours before the upcoming Assembly Session this month.

Chief Minister Reddy emphasized that the proposed university will likely be located within the premises of the Engineering Staff College due to its proximity to numerous IT companies and industries. This strategic location aims to facilitate better collaboration between the university and the industrial sector.

Revanth Reddy also highlighted the importance of aligning the university’s courses and curriculum with industry needs, ensuring that the training provided is relevant and beneficial for both the students and the employers.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to boost employment opportunities for the youth by equipping them with the skills required in the contemporary job market. The establishment of the Skill Development University is expected to play a pivotal role in achieving this goal.
