Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a spirited ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, rallying participants to embrace patriotism and unity ahead of India’s 78th Independence Day. The event featured a remarkable 2,151-foot-long Tricolor, carried by participants that included school teachers and personnel from various forces.

During the rally, Amit Shah emphasized the importance of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative, urging every household in Gujarat to proudly display the national flag on August 15. “This Tiranga Yatra is designed to ignite the spirit of patriotism among the youth across India. I urge everyone that on August 15, not a single house in Gujarat should be without our national flag,” Shah declared.

He also highlighted India’s significant achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting that the Indian flag has been hoisted on the Moon, a feat unmatched by any other nation. Shah also mentioned India’s victories over terrorism and its leadership in the global fight against COVID-19, particularly through the development and distribution of vaccines.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which commenced on August 9, will culminate on Independence Day, August 15. This nationwide initiative has seen widespread participation from all states and union territories, with significant involvement from key industry partners, including the Indian armed forces, Central Armed Police Forces, and the civil aviation sector.

On August 10, BJP National President J.P. Nadda launched the Tiranga Yatra in Rajkot, where he underscored Gujarat’s crucial role in India’s development. “India is in the making, and Gujarat plays a huge role. This independence didn’t come easily. Thousands of soldiers lost their lives, and lakhs of families sacrificed their loved ones, putting the country above their interests,” Nadda remarked, paying homage to the sacrifices made for India’s freedom.

The Tiranga Yatra and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative aim to unite the nation in a shared sense of pride and commitment to India’s future during the ongoing ‘Amrit Kaal,’ the period marking the next 25 years of the country’s journey toward global prominence.
