Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been in the news for issuing threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, demanding an apology for the blackbuck poaching incident or face dire consequences. The Bishnoi community holds blackbucks sacred, and Bishnoi has taken particular offense at Salman’s alleged involvement in the 1998 case. Despite being acquitted of the charge, the gangster continues to insist on an apology, making Salman his next target. Salman’s life has been under increased scrutiny and threat, raising concerns for his safety. Amidst this, Salim Khan, the actor’s father, has come forward to staunchly defend his son’s innocence in the matter.

Salman Khan and the Blackbuck Poaching Case

In 1998, while shooting for the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in Rajasthan, Salman Khan was accused of hunting two blackbucks, a species protected under Indian law. The case has since been a highly publicized legal battle, with Salman being convicted and later acquitted by higher courts. The Bishnoi community, which considers the blackbuck sacred, has been at the forefront of protests against the actor.

Adding to this tension, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has issued multiple threats to Salman, demanding that he apologize for allegedly killing the blackbuck, something Bishnoi claims has hurt his community. In response, Salim Khan has refuted these allegations, arguing that his son was neither responsible for the incident nor even present when it happened.

Salim Khan’s Defense: “Salman Was Not There”

In a recent interview with ABP News, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan firmly stood by his son, denying all accusations. Salim recounted that when the blackbuck incident first came to light, he personally questioned Salman about his involvement. According to Salim, Salman categorically denied being present at the time of the alleged poaching. “He wasn’t even in the car when it happened,” Salim recalled, further adding that Salman has always been honest with him.

Salim also stressed that Salman has never shown any interest in harming animals. “He doesn’t have the habit of killing animals. He loves them. He doesn’t even kill a cockroach,” Salim remarked, emphasizing his son’s kindness and compassionate nature.

No Apology Necessary: “Why Should He Apologize?”

The crux of Salim Khan’s argument revolves around the idea that Salman has no reason to apologize. “Why should he ask for forgiveness? Has he done anything wrong?” Salim questioned, adding that apologizing would imply that Salman had indeed committed the crime. The veteran writer reiterated that their family has never been involved in hunting or using guns, and thus, they don’t feel there is anything to apologize for.

“Apologizing would mean admitting guilt. Salman has never harmed any animal, and we’ve never even used a gun. So why should he say sorry?” Salim continued.

Salman’s Security Amid Threats

Despite these denials, the threats from Lawrence Bishnoi are being taken seriously. Following the murder of politician Baba Siddique, a close friend of Salman Khan, the actor’s security has been significantly tightened. Salman is now provided with Y+ security, and all individuals entering his sets are required to show their Aadhaar cards. Reports also suggest that over 60 guards have been stationed around the actor during his shoots, including for his ongoing project Sikander and the reality show Bigg Boss 18.

Salim Khan’s Firm Stand

As Salman continues to work amid heavy security, his father remains firm in his defense, maintaining that his son has no reason to apologize for something he did not do. Whether the Bishnoi gang’s threats will escalate further remains a point of concern, but Salim’s position is clear: Salman Khan is innocent, and no apology will be given for an alleged crime that was never committed.
