The BJP is set to unveil its manifesto today, promising key initiatives for women, the underprivileged, and senior citizens ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections on February 5, 2025.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released the first part of its manifesto, titled Sankalp Patra, for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5, 2025. The manifesto outlines key initiatives aimed at women, healthcare, senior citizens, and food distribution, with BJP national president JP Nadda emphasizing the party’s commitment to a “Viksit Delhi” (Developed Delhi).
Addressing the media, Nadda, alongside Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and election in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda, assured voters of corruption-free governance and efficient implementation of developmental schemes.
Key promises in BJP’s Delhi election manifesto 2025
For women
Under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, women will receive Rs 2,500 per month.
Poor women to get a Rs 500 subsidy on LPG cylinders and one free cylinder each during Holi and Diwali.
Pregnant women will benefit from the Maatratva Suraksha Vandana Yojana, receiving six nutritional kits and Rs 21,000 from the CM fund.
Healthcare
Full implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme for 51 lakh residents.
Additional health insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh under the scheme.
Senior citizens
Pension for senior citizens aged above 60 will increase from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500.
Pension for those aged above 70, along with widows, differently-abled individuals, and destitutes, will rise from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000.
Food distribution
Introduction of the Atal Canteen Scheme, offering nutritious meals for poor individuals at just Rs 5.
Nadda highlighted the party’s focus on efficiency and last-mile delivery, stating, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed India’s political culture, making commitments through the Sankalp Patra a priority.”
He also assured voters of the BJP’s track record in fulfilling promises, citing the implementation of 499 out of 500 pledges made in 2014 and 95% of those from 2019.
Upcoming polls
Delhi will witness polling across 70 assembly seats on February 5, with results to be announced on February 8. The BJP has promised more details in the subsequent parts of its manifesto in the coming days.
