The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its sixth list of 19 candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly Elections 2024. This brings the total number of AAP candidates announced to 89, as the party prepares for the polls scheduled on October 5.
In the latest list, senior AAP leader Prem Garg has been fielded from the Panchkula seat. Notable candidates include OP Gujjar from Kalka, Wazir Singh Dhanda from Jind, and Manish Arora from Ellenabad, where he will face INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala. Other candidates named include Kamal Bisla from Fatehabad, Geeta Sheoran from Loharu, OP Verma from Badkhal, and Himmat Yadav from Kosli.
AAP had earlier declared candidates in five previous lists. On September 11, the fifth list revealed nine names, including Anil Ranga for Narwana and Wasim Jaffar for Ferozepur Jhirka. The party also announced its star campaigners, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and other prominent AAP leaders.
Despite seat-sharing talks with Congress falling through, AAP is confident of forming the government in Haryana. Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has voiced optimism, citing dissatisfaction with the 10-year BJP rule in the state. The votes for the 90-member Haryana legislative assembly will be counted on October 8.
