A 17 year old girl had gone missing after leaving a suicide note, in which she blames Mumbai Police former DIG Nishikant More of molesting her.
More and the victim’s father are friends, and the former had visited their house on the victim’s birthday party, where he tried to molest her.
She also mentioned that More is pressurising the victim’s family to withdraw the case. Her brother too made allegations that constable Dinkar Salve had been threatening the family for taking the case back.
The family has registered a case of kidnapping, saying that their daughter was kidnapped while she was on her way to commit suicide.
Maharashtra Home minister Anil Deshmukh said that the police are investigating the case and that the driver too, along with More has been suspended.
A disciplinary action is to be taken against More, who at present is absconding, says Deshmukh.
