Ace Badminton player Saina Nehrwal is inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s” hard work” for the nation, and she joined BJP on Wednesday along with her sister Chandranshu Nehwal. Joining the party, Saina said that the party has been doing a lot of good work, and she as a member would surely do her bit.
Saina who has been vocal on social media said, “I am a hard working person and I like hard working people. Narendra Modi sir has been working day and night for the country. If I can do something for the country with him, it will be my good fortune. I draw a lot of inspiration from Modi sir. He inspires me,” she said.
A Padma and Arjuna awardee, she met BJP secretary JP Nadda while also praising the government’s ‘Khelo India’ initiative.
BJP general secretary Arjun Singh said Saina is an inspirational figure. She has brought glory to the country with her 24 international titles, including gold at the CommonWealth Games and she has made India proud.
BJP sources say the party may deploy her in Delhi election campaign, especially to reach out to the youngsters, presenting her as a “youth icon”.
