Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya hit back at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav after he said that Maurya wished to become the CM but has failed. “Take 100 MLAs from us, we are with you, become CM whenever you want,” Yadav had said while addressing a rally in Rampur ahead of by-elections.
Reacting to this, the BJP leader slammed the SP chief and said, “I reject Akhilesh Yadav’s offer. He should try to save his own MLAs. We are not taking them into our party as the Samajwadi Party is full of goons.”
Both the deputy CMs in the state are looking for an opportunity to become chief minister, but they have failed,” former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said on Thursday.
“There are two Deputy Chief Ministers in the state. Both of them are looking for an opportunity to become CM,” the SP chief said. Yadav further ‘offered’ to both Deputy Chief Ministers and said, “We have come to give them an offer. Take 100 MLAs from us, we are with you, become CM whenever you want.”
Rampur bypolls will be held on December 5, and the counting of votes will be done on December 8. Dimple Yadav, the wife of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, is contesting the Mainpuri by-polls. Mainpuri, considered a stronghold of the Samajwadi Party, fell vacant on October 10 following the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.
When asked about the Shraddha murder case, UP Deputy CM said, “Such incidents raise concerns and the government will take steps in this direction. Parents, relatives, and women should remain cautious. Similarly, in this case, what Aaftab did was not humane. The government will look into the legal aspects of the case.”
Aaftab Ameen Poonawala, 28, allegedly strangled his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar, chopped her body into 35 pieces, and stored the body parts in a fridge before dumping them across the national capital for several days. The accused underwent sessions of polygraph testing where he confessed to killing his girlfriend, and a narcoanalysis test was also conducted on Thursday.
