Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Mumbai ahead of the crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls expected to be held in September or October. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has confirmed the visit and said that Amit Shah will hold meetings with state leaders.
Amit Shah is coming to Mumbai. He will be taking the darshan of Lord Ganesh as well. We have requested him that we all need to benefit from his visit and thoughts as well and hence it is certain there will be some political meetings as well,” said Devendra Fadnavis.
“We are focusing on the entire Mumbai. I am confident that BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde) will together win the BMC elections,” said Fadnavis.
It is learned that Amit Shah will meet the state leaders and go through the party strategy for the upcoming BMC polls. It is also learned that the BJP leader will hold meetings with Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar during his visit.
During the visit, Amit Shah will be visiting the famous Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati Pandal.
Ganeshotsav is the biggest festival in the state and this time around it is being held after a gap of two years owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, BJP president J P Nadda is also expected to visit Mumbai in mid-September and his tour would mostly focus on the party’ campaign strategy for the BMC polls.
