Apple’s aggressive move for opening Brand Showrooms in India

Apple is all set to launch its first-ever offline retail store in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. Interestingly the Apple logo that has been put up on the website seems inspired from Mumbai’s iconic kaali peeli taxi. Sources said that, these Brand Stores across the country to be directly controlled by the Cupertino, California, United States.

 

Tim Cook, Chief Executive Officer , Apple Inc. to visit India next week for the country’s first Apple store. Tim Cook has scheduled a trip to open the iPhone maker’s first stores in India next week, underscoring the company’s ambitions for the country as a growth market and manufacturing base.

 

Apple’s range of products including iPhone, AirPods, ipads and other devices will soon sold in India at the brand’s chain of retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi.

 

The Mumbai store is located in exact store address of Apple’s first ever offline outlet is given on the Apple India website. It is Mumbai, BKC, G1-G2, Jio World Drive, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, Maharashtra, 400051.

 

Sources said, the lease agreement bars 22 competing brands including Amazon, Facebook, Google, LG, Microsoft, Sony, and few other from occupying space or displaying any advertisement inside the exclusivity zone of the mall.

 

Apple Delhi retail store in Mumbai

 

Ambani-owned mall in Mumbai has an 11-year deal with Apple for a space of around 20,800 square feet. The rent of the store will increase by 15% every three years and the company will pay a minimum payment of Rs.42 lakh along with a 2% revenue share contribution for the first three years. Whereas, the revenue share contribution will increase to 2.5% after the first three years. While Apple BKC in Mumbai will be thrown open on April 18, Apple Saket in Delhi will be open for customers on April 20.

 

The tech giant is working towards doubling down on strengthening its presence in India. Apple Delhi retail store set to open on April 20 in the Select city walk, District Center ,Saket, New Delhi which will have 12,000 sq.ft area . Sources said, the existing Imagine Store to shut down soon.

 

There are rumours are Apple that plans to have outlets in Pune and Bengaluru as well. In an official statement, Apple said, “These new retail locations mark a significant expansion in India that will offer great new ways to browse, discover, and buy . Apple products with exceptional service and experiences for customers.

Apple Delhi retail store set to open on April 20

 

Apple is betting on India to diversify its assembly operations beyond China amid strained Beijing-Washington relations. The two stores have been a long time in the making as India’s strict rules forbid global brands from opening own-brand outlets unless they source a significant portion of the goods from within the country.

 

Ahead of opening day, customers are invited to download custom Apple BKC and Apple Saket wallpapers, and specially curated playlists on Apple Music to move to the sounds of Mumbai and Delhi. The company is aggressively looking for staffs for these outlets.

 

At Apple, every new store or facility is designed to reflect its values — from creativity and innovation to respect for the environment. Like all Apple facilities, the stores run on 100 per cent renewable energy.
